I recently attended a mastermind event featuring some of the greatest thought leaders of our generation. Attendees included Tony Robbins, Alex Mandossian, Les Brown, Tony Hsieh, Ivan Misner, Chet Holmes, Bill Bartmann, Stephen Pierce and many others.

It was a fantastic three days of learning, networking, and building relationships.

On Saturday evening we were told that we had a surprise speaker. It turns out that Janet Atwood has a friend that knows Paula Abdul. I'm not sure if Paula was already in Vegas or if she flew in for this, but she agreed to come and speak to our group.

Come to find out that this was the FIRST time she had ever told her life story publicly. She was nervous, but she did great!

I can't tell you how many times I've done it.

I reach a website, enjoy the content, then head for the search box to look for more. I type in the keywords, hit the Search button... and find that I'm searching in the subscription field.

Now I have to look for the search box and start typing all over again. Or more likely, I'll give up and look for another website.

Putting the RSS subscription field where the user is expecting a search box is a very easy mistake for a publisher to make. You want your users to be able to find the content they're looking for. You want them to enjoy your site. You want them to see the ads on the search results page.

Dillon Colorado Rental Home - Wonderful Vacation!

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of enjoying a weekend in the mountains with my family.

We stayed in a neighborhood called Summerwood, located in Dillon, Colorado. It's about two hours from Loveland, where we live, and it was an absolutely perfect retreat for the weekend!

Just a few minutes from Dillon AND Keystone resort, you could spend the entire weekend inside this massive home and do nothing but enjoy the spectacular views.

I did take the kids to the slopes for a day, but I also enjoyed some much-needed downtime.

Whenever I see a picture from inside the Oval Office, something always strikes me.

Yes, I'm struck by how much nicer the President's office is than mine (although I think I've got a better view). But mostly I'm struck by his desk. It's big and old and it's nicely decorated... but that's not really what I'm getting at either.

What's most striking about the President's desk - and this is true of the workspace of just about every top executive - is how empty it is. There are no piles of paper, no collections of dirty coffee cups... and apparently no computer.
