I'm a day late, but not a dollar short. That's because I am packing for a move that takes place next week. It's only a few blocks away. But whether it's 3 blocks or 3 states, you still have to pack up all your stuff and get it moved. Can anyone relate?

Anyhow, I've got three items for you this week. We're going to talk about Snapchat's latest cool feature. Then I'll tell you about the future of Twitter. And finally we'll wrap up with something that is VERY close to home for me. I'm hoping it will lead you to take action on a very important matter.

Shall we dance?

* Snapchat puts their Bitmoji Acquisition to Good Use!

Snapchat recently spent about $100 million on Bitmoji, the app that allows you to make emojis featuring your own avatar. Now we understand why! Check out the following video that shows you step-by-step how to make your snaps more fun than ever with Bitmojis.

* What's the future of Twitter?

Twitter is having a hard time getting new users, and keeping the ones they have. What can save them?

In this interview I did with CNBC Asia, I had the opportunity to give my opinion.

* Can you do me a personal favor, please?

I told you this one was close to home for me.

It's personal because it concerns my daughter. She's on a mission to do something really awesome, and I want to share it with you. It will especially hit home if you are a military veteran, know a veteran or just love dogs.

What am I talking aobut? Please click this link and watch the video. If you are so moved to take action, I hope you will.

Have I told you that I appreciate you lately? I do! Thank you for reading my newsletter and for engaging with me online.

Do good stuff!

Happy Today to you! I once heard that brevity is the soul of wit. So rather than use too many words, let's jump right in...

* Joel Takes to the Streets of Denver for Pokemon Go

Are you part of the Pokemon Go craze? I have a confession to make... I am. In fact, last week I gathered a group of Denver friends together and we hit the streets for a Pokemon hunt! Did we have fun? You bet! Here's a video I made that shows you the highlights, including the Legendary that I found.

* Get Twitter Verified!

It's true. After closing off applications to get the little blue checkmark that says you are verified by Twitter back in 2009, the program has re-opened! That means you can now apply to get YOUR Twitter account verified. To find out how, watch my tutorial here.

* Top Social Media Influencer of 2016?!

Yup, it was a very big week for me as I was bestowed an honor that was quite significant. To learn more of how I became the top social media influencer of 2016, read my article at:

http://joelcomm.com/joel-comm-named-influential-entrepreneur-2016.html

* Where to find me almost DAILY

Did you know I stream live content almost every day? Follow me on Periscope as @joelcomm and on Facebook at Facebook.com/joelcomm, and be sure you have notifications turned ON. Then you won't miss any original content. :-)

That's going to wrap it up for the week. As always I value your feedback. Don't be afraid to hit reply and share your thoughts.

Do good stuff!

Joel Comm Weekly News - 7/15/16

---------------------------------
Joel Comm Weekly Update
July 15, 2016
---------------------------------

Hello, my friends!

The response to this weekly format has been extremely positive, so let's keep it going. Since it is a weekly digest, I am bringing you the best of the week. You don't have to read it all in one setting. Just make sure you don't delete it until you get a chance to see it all.

It's been a great week, packed with live video opportunities. I've made some new discoveries and found a piece of software that is an absolute must-have if you are using Facebook Live.

Let's start there...

1) Broadcasting to multiple pages and groups with Facebook Live

There are many ways to broadcast your live stream to Facebook. You can use your personal profile, a business page, a group or an event page. But until now, you've had to select one or the other. Not any more!

I purchased Live Leap and put it to the test this week. Essentially, the incredibly easy-to-use software allows you to broadcast to multiple pages, groups and events with the click of a button.

I streamed to my personal page and the live video also showed up on my fan page and Live Video Marketing Mastermind group at the same time!

There's a one-time fee for this and it's worth every dollar. Get it at:

http://comm.us/liveleap

(Yes, that's my affiliate link. You're welcome)

2) Broadcasting with multiple cameras from your Apple devices

Let's say you don't have the ability to broadcast from your desktop but you wish you had multiple cameras for your live stream.

Switcher Studio is a mobile production suite that allows content creators to use an iPhone or iPad as a portable video mixer. You can share your events and engage your audience without spending thousands of dollars on expensive cameras and gear. All you need is Switcher Studio and an iPhone or iPad – record the video output to your primary device and stream live video anywhere with an internet connection.

I demonstrate how it works in this video which I think you'll enjoy.

3) Everyone is playing Pokemon Go (including me!)

I've never seen anything like the sensation that is Pokemon Go in my entire life. There is MUCH more to it than the children's game. And I wrote an article for Inc.com which I think you will find helpful as you seek Pikachu and his friends.

It's called "What You Can Learn from One of the Most Successful Product Launches of All Time"

http://www.inc.com/joel-comm/what-you-can-learn-from-one-of-the-most-successful-product-launches-of-all-time.html

4) True 360 Degree Video has Arrived!

I got my hands on the latest consumer-level 360 video technology this week. It's called the ALLie Camera and it is an amazing device. Imagine being able to shoot 360 degree video in 4K hi-resolution. That's exactly what I did and I made a video to demonstrate while standing on my front porch.

5) Finally, totally unrelated to live video, this one instead is a fun little piece where I reviewed an online personal clothing service called Bombfell. I am curious what you think of the clothes they sent me.

As I said, plenty of great content for you to learn from and enjoy. As always, I appreciate your feedback.

Do good stuff!

Joel

P.S. - I got to see Peter Gabriel and Sting in Denver this week. They were awesome!

Joel Comm Weekly News - 7/7/16

---------------------------------
Joel Comm Weekly Update
July 7, 2016
---------------------------------

One of the biggest things many of us struggle with is consistency. Getting things done on some sort of regular schedule can be extremely challenging given the number of tasks on our plate.

I've discovered that keeping up with my subscribers is one of my areas that I struggle with. I'm putting all kinds of free content out there, but without letting you know where to find it, many are missing out on things that would be very helpful to you in your business and life.

So, with no sexy subject lines... no clever copywriting... and a desire to serve you as best I can, my goal is to produce a weekly newsletter featuring a round-up of the content I am creating for you. Rather then send you one item several days a week, this digest will serve as a simpler form of communication.

The difference is that you'll want to take time to go through each of the links so you don't miss anything.

With that said, here's what you'll find useful this week...

1) Why you should be all-in on live video streaming

Facebook and Twitter continue to go head-to-head with live video, and YouTube will soon be launching a way for their users to broadcast live through the YouTube app. Can Microsoft/LinkedIn, Yahoo, Snapchat or others be far behind in their quest to take a piece of the live video pie?

To put things in perspective, what we are seeing happening now is very similar to when cable television launched and networks will springing up to seize their share of the marketplace.

The live video apps ARE the new television and the race is on.

You've got to know which apps are available and where the opportunity is at. That's why you MUST be engaged in the conversation.

I've set up a closed Facebook group that is quickly becoming the go-to location for the important news and discussion around this topic. In just a few months, we've attracted about 3500 people to this group and it continues to grow.

Since it is a closed group, you need to request access. To do so, go to:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/LiveVideoGroup/

2) I have NOT abandoned recorded video!

In spite of all the talk about live video, know that recorded video is NOT going away. Remember that all your live videos then become replays which can be repurposed many ways.

And YouTube has remained a consistent source of traffic and engagement for over a decade.

In fact, I am regularly creating videos for YouTube on my channel at:

http://Youtube.com/joelcomm

I'd like to invite you to click the SUBSCRIBE button so you don't miss anything.

New videos this week include:

* New Emojis for Your iPhone Coming Soon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkBhUULwhNY

* The Best Live Streaming Video Apps
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ilb47A8a8Q

* How to Use the Musical.ly App
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhfW6nIqiAU

That will do it for this week!

I would appreciate it if you would let me know your thoughts on this format. Feel free to email me back at hello@joelcomm.com or just send me a message on Facebook at facebook.com/joelcomm.

Until next week...

Do good stuff!
