Meet MY Mentor (and me) in Dallas!

Hey My,

Sorry for the second email today, but read on and you'll discover
why I thought it was important to send this now...

It was 1987.

I was fresh out of college and living in Dallas, Texas.

I really didn't have much direction, other than to have a good
time. I was a DJ at a Dallas nightclub and had a typical "I'm
immortal let's party" 23-year old attitude.

I won't go into the details of how I was screwing up my life, but
eventually my lack of direction came home to roost. I just didn't
have any peace and I knew I needed a change.

That's when a friend told me about a gentleman by the name of Zig
Ziglar.

Funny name, I thought. But I listened.

Turns out Zig was a world-famous salesman turned motivational
speaker and author. He was putting on an event called "Born to
Win". It was a 3-day event and the cost was somewhere in the
ballpark of $700. I can't recall the exact amount.

I thought a little positive mental attitude would be good for me.
Perhaps I would uncover some of the stinkin' thinkin' that was
holding me back.

It was a life-changing three days for me.

As a result, I bought Zig's books, See You at the Top, and The
Secrets of Closing the Sale. I bought his audio tape sets of the
same name and listened to them again and again.

Zig had a way of communicating that resonated with me. He was
funny. He was informative. And he was genuine.

Thanks to Zig, I was able to learn a lot about myself, about others
and about sales. I understood that the choices I made had an
impact that rippled far beyond myself.

I was equipped and inspired to make a difference.

Today when I speak I still like to quote some Zig-isms, such as:

"You get what you want when you help enough other people get what
they want."

and

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you
care."

I also credit Zig for helping me set my spiritual course. A number
of people played into that decision, but I will always be grateful
to Zig for his role.

So where is this going?

On Friday October 8th and 9th, I will be journeying back to Dallas,
Texas to share the stage with my mentor, Zig Ziglar...

... and you are invited to join me!

My friend, Carrie Wilkerson (known as the Barefoot Executive), is
hosting a 2-day event that can mean as much to you as Born to Win
meant to me.

The BOSS Event 2010 (Barefoot Online Success Summit) is a
one-of-a-kind NO-PITCH event featuring incredibly inspirational and
informative speakers coming together to help you transform your
business.

I am humbled to have been invited to join this group of people and
share what I see as the biggest trends in mobile marketing and
beyond.

If there is any way you can make it to Dallas a week from Friday, I
will be thrilled to meet you and speak with you.

But here's the deal... you have to move fast.

Time is short and so are rooms at the event hotel.

Carrie is offering a limited time discount of just $297 to attend
both days of this event, but the discount is supposed to go away at
2 pm EST on Tuesday, September 28th.

(Now you know why I am emailing you for a second time today...
otherwise you might miss this...)

Carrie has added some great bonuses to this offer, so click below
and take a look at the page now. If there is any way you can make
it, I would love to see you there.

Hope to meet you in Dallas!

Do good stuff,

Joel

P.S. - Carrie is a perfect example of someone who has successfully
branded herself and is making a difference in other's lives. She
calls Zig her mentor as well.

I will be bringing my 1987 edition of "See You at the Top" for Zig
to sign. I can't wait to share with him how he has positively
influenced me.
